FIBS Academy holds baseball tryouts for class of 2016

TIRRENIA – Fourty-nine hopeful baseball prospects converged at the Italian National Olympic training center in Tirrenia (Pisa) for a shot at getting admitted into arguably Europe’s most prestigious academy dedicated to the bat and ball disciplines of baseball and softball.

The young ballplayers were run through a series of drills, sprints, explosive exercises, as well as standard baseball hitting and defense aptitude measures.

Data and evaluations will be crunched and callbacks will be made in early June to those lucky “chosen” few.
