In the first of two games on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in the U22 Women's European Softball Championship, Team Italy U22 manager Andrea Longagnani called on Beatrice Nannetti to start against Croatia. She did not disappoint as the Italian pitcher threw four scoreless innings and allowed just two hits with six strikeouts and one walk.
The relentless Team Italy offense welcomed the addition of slugger Giulia Koutsoyanopulos, who recently arrived from the U.S. after her successful sophomore campaign at the University of Arizona. She was one of six players in the Azzurre lineup who hit for extra bases. While Giulia Koutsoyanopulos, Virginia Mambelli, and Martina Ghergolet doubled once, Linda Rampoldi doubled twice, Flavia Carletti tripled and Tara Melassi homered. The young and talented Italian softball squad generated a total of 14 runs on 12 hits to blank Croatia 14-0.

She was twice as nice in the circle pitching a one-hitter during her four scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Virginia Mambelli led the Team Italy offensive attack going a perfect 2-for-2 with one walk, two RBI and one run scored. Noemi Giacometti, Alessia Colonna and Linda Rampoldi also contributed with hits to propel Team Italy to a 10-0 shutout over Slovakia.
