Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball (FIBS) Federal Councilor Marco Mannucci, Piemonte Regional Council President Alberto Cirio along with Sport Councilor Fabrizio Ricca met with Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) President Didier Seminet in Paris on May 21, 2021 to discuss the upcoming Seniors European Baseball Championship, which is scheduled to take place on the diamonds of Torino, Avigliana, Settimo Torinese from September 12-19, 2021.
Piemonte Regional Council President Alberto Cirio and Sport Councilor Fabrizio Ricca made a formal presentation to the CEB highlighting the abundance of Piemonte Region tourism, sports and cultural opportunities surrounding the Seniors European Baseball Championship. In addition, Alberto Cirio asked the CEB for its full cooperation in confirming the international competition. His request was supported by FIBS Federal Councilor Marco Mannucci, who assured the CEB that FIBS would comply with, implement and enforce all the necessary health and safety protocols to ensure the Piemonte tourney would take place without incident.
CEB President Didier Seminet thanked FIBS for organizing and hosting the event. He heralded FIBS President Andrea Marcon and FIBS Councilor Marco Mannucci for their commitment to this point. In addition, he expressed his sincere gratitude to the promoters of the competition at the Paris meeting and guaranteed his support so that the Seniors European Baseball Championship runs exactly as planned.
