After hosting and winning the WBC Qualifier recently at Rod Carew National Stadium in Panama City, Panama returns to the World Baseball Classic for the first time in 14 years and earns the right to compete in Pool A against Team Italy, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Cuba and host Chinese Taipei in Taichung, Taiwan from March 8-12, 2023. The top two finishers will advance to the WBC Quarterfinal 1 and face the two top teams in Pool B (featuring Japan, Korea, Australia, China and Czech Republic) in Tokyo, Japan on March 15 and 16, 2023.
The WBC Quarterfinal 1 winner and runner-up will advance to the WBC Semifinals in Miami, Florida on March 19 and 20, 2022 to clash against the WBC Quarterfinal 2 winner and runner-up between Pool C (USA, Mexico, Colombia, Canada, and Great Britain) and Pool D (Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Israel and Nicaragua). The two WBC Semifinals winners will meet in the World Baseball Classic Championship in Miami, Florida on March 21, 2023. Forza #Italia!
