Caserta and Bollate set to clash for Italian Softball League championship

ROME – Caserta needed the full five games to put newcomer Bologna to sleep in the division playoffs, but they are looking to come out swinging against red hot Bollate.

Bollate has been idle longer than Caserta has, having made quick work out of La Loggia.  This could allow the softballers from Lombardy some time to rejuvenate and hide in the shade from the blazing heat, which has been pounding Italy like a Mike Tyson signature uppercut that is being dished out via flame-covered boxing gloves.

The softballers from Caserta are poised and ready to battle for their 4th championship in a row.  The stingy softballers from Caserta refuse to share the glory and continue to raise the standard of play each year.  The other ISL teams shape their hold line-ups and off-seasons with one thing in mind: to take down Caserta.  That’s easier said than done, but not impossible Bollate contends.

On paper, Caserta has Bollate dominated in the offense categories and has a good edge in the pitching department, as well.  But this series is not David vs. Goliath type match-up.

Bollate can strike at any time and won’t be pulling any punches, but the softballers from Bollate got bushwhacked during the season by Caserta, losing all 4 regular season games.

Bollate will need to change their game plan, if they are to stand a chance at dethroning the queens of the Italian baseball scene.
