Bologna opens Week 7 of IBL with win over San Marino

First-place Bologna started Week 7 of the Italian Baseball League by adding some distance from the rest of the pack. 

Bologna broke up a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the ninth, pushing the decisive run across the plate and win the opening game of the week.

The win for Bologna places them a full game ahead of second-place Rimini.

The loss for San Marino pushes them down to third-place.  Only a few weeks ago, San Marino had been cruising solo atop the IBL standings.

The rest of the IBL will open up tonight.

Parma will be looking to cool off a hot Rimini team.

Nettuno will host the Godo Knights.  The results of this series could shake things up in the middle of the standings.

Novara will be thinking to capture their first win of the season against next-to-last-place Grosseto.

At the conclusion of Week 7, all teams will have played a three-game series against each other.
