Bologna edges past Godo in make-up game, remains in first place

BOLOGNA – First-place Bologna topped Godo 6-4 last night, in a game that had been originally scheduled for the end of April

BOLOGNA – First-place Bologna topped Godo 6-4 last night, in a game that had been originally scheduled for the end of April.

The game was a quick contest that lasted just over two and a half hours.

The match-up only saw 13 hits between both teams, with Bologna outhitting Godo eight to five.

Bologna did all of their damage within the first five innings, jumping out in front 6-1 and surrendering a few  late inning runs to Godo along the way.

The win for Bologna move them out a full game ahead of second-place Rimini.

Godo continues their slide, having fallen eight games out of first place and five games below .500.

Bologna will next meet Parma to begin the second half of the season, while Godo gets it on at home with Grosseto.

Parma has been a sleeper team all year and historically this team starts to heat up in the middle of May, so Bologna will be looking to keep the Parmagiani hibernating for at least one more week.

Godo will look to keep Grosseto down, as the Orioles are coming off the short end of a three game sweep, which came at the hands of a then winless Novara ballclub.
