A six run bottom of the third was all that Rimini needed to take down a hot Parma club. Rivera’s control problems along with some timely hitting by Castro and Buccheri obligated Munoz to go to his pen for Giovanelli, who was let down himself by some shaky defense behind him in the field that led to a deficit too deep for Parma to recuperate from. Roberto Corradini picked up the win for Rimini by throwing the first 5, before giving way to Cherubini, Patrone, and Pezzullo. 9-2 was the final, and with the win Rimini stays a full game up on Bologna for the top spot in the league.

T&A San Marino picked up a much needed sweep over the weekend, taking two from a visiting Novara ballclub that is currently sitting down near the bottom in the wins loss column. Game one went to the home team, T&A, by the final of 7-1. San Marino got off to a quick start in the bottom of the 1st, when they racked up 4 runs, building a lead that they would never look back from (4 in the 1st, 1 in the 3rd, and 2 in the 7th). Jim Magrane went 7 innings for the win, giving up 5 hits, 3 walks, and 1 run, all while sitting down 4 via the strikeout. Cublian came on for the last 2 and struck out 3 himself to help bring home the victory.

Game two also went to San Marino, 9-6. This was a game that seemed as if it was going to be a blowout early, however defensive errors led to the departure of Da Silva in the 8th after he had given up 5 runs, of which only 1 was earned on 119 pitches. D’Amico came onto shut the door on Novara, going the last 1.1, allowing 1 run on 3 hits to pick up the save. Notably Avagnina had a nice day going 3 for 5 with the stick, scoring once and driving in one as well. Pantaleoni was also very productive for T&A, as he drove in 4 and score 3 times with his 1 for 4 day.

Over in Godo, it was the knights that rained victorious twice over the last place Toshiba Enegan Grosseto club. Game one was taken 10-0, while in game two a complete game by Yulman Ribeiro out did the complete game by Marquez. The final in this one was 5-2, setting then number of consecutive losses at 23 and counting. Next on the list for Grosseto will be Parma for 2, Reggio Emilia for 3, and Nettuno to finish things off for 2.
