The 22nd edition of the Women’s European Softball Championship takes place from June 27- July 3, 2021 on five different Friuli Venezia-Giulia region diamonds (Ronchi dei Legionari, Castions di Strada, Porpetto, Cervignano and Castions delle Mura). With just three weeks remaining before the first pitch, the official Women’s European Softball Championship schedule was made public by Softball Europe.
There are 17 national teams divided into three groups of four teams and one group of five. Host Team Italy is in Group A and will defend the European Championship title by facing Russia on Sunday, June 27 at 8:30 pm in Castions di Strada. The Italians travel to Ronchi dei Legionari the following day for a clash with Poland under the lights at 8 pm. Then Team Italy has a day game in Cervignano against Bulgaria on Tuesday, June 29 at 3 pm before a nightcap at 8 pm in Ronchi dei Legionari against Hungary. The second round begins on Wednesday, June 30 and leads up the Euro Championship final on Saturday, July 3.
Group B features the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Lithuania. Group C is comprised of the Czech Republic, Israel, Croatia and Denmark. Spain, France, Ukraine and Slovakia make up Group D. Click on this link for the complete Women’s European Softball Championship calendar.
