Nancy Evans and Becky Blatnick work with Team Italy softball pitchers before presenting at CON-X 2023

The coaches entrusted with the growth and future development of Team Italy softball pitchers will be at CON-X 2023 for a series of presentations on the various aspects of pitching after four intensive practices with 17 pitchers from U15 and U18 categories at the Collecchio BSC.

Softball legend Nancy Evans excelled as both a player and coach at University of Arizona. In her collegiate path as a pitcher from 1994 to 1998, she tallied 124 total wins and led the Wildcats to three national titles in addition to being named MVP in 1998. Nancy Evans later played in the US professional leagues from 1998 to 2005 during which time she won the Women's Professional Fastpitch League title in 1999 and was an All-Star three times. She was later inducted into the 2002 University of Arizona University Athletic Hall of Fame, where she served as pitching coach after graduation. In addition, Nancy Evans was recruited by Kingdom of the Netherlands as a member of the national softball coaching staff and led team to the 2009 European Softball Championship. She is the current Team Italy women’s softball pitching coach for the Elite squad.

Becky Blatnick followed in Nancy Evans’ footsteps on the University of Arizona pitching mound from 1998 to 2001. She led the Wildcats to a national title during her senior year in addition to being named to PAC-10 All-Conference teams twice. Becky Blatnick notched a total of 103 wins and 916 strikeouts at the University of Arizona. She has since worked under USA Softball Hall of Fame skipper Mike Candrea at his Southwest Softball Camp over the years. In addition to being a private pitching instructor, Becky Blatnick was a coach for Team Hitachi in Japan. She currently serves as a softball pitching specialist for Team Italy.
