On July the 2nd in Cervignano del Friuli Marten Gasparini is expected to sign a professional contract with an MLB club that is expected to come with the highest signing bonus ever offered to a European ball player, a bonus that could top seven figures. Out of all the clubs in the race to sign Gasparini, it looks as if the top offer may be coming form the Kansas City Royals thus far.

Born on May 24th, 1997, Gasparini entered into the FIBS Accademy in Tirrenia, Italy back in 2011. Since that time the infielder from Friuli has made a number of appearances with the youth Italian National team, playing in international tournaments all over the world.

Marten Gasparini will be following in the footsteps of current Major Leaguer ‘Alex Liddi’, in hope of making it to the show just as Alex has. Look for the 5 tool athlete to make headlines on Tuesday when the result of his new club is announced.
