La Loggia in along side Bollate in division A, while in division B Caserta is still alone
In game one of the two game series between Nuoro Banco di Sardegna and Rhibo in La Loggia, the home team got it handed to them by a final score of . Lindsey Beisser picked up the win for Nuoro with a complete game 4 hitter, as she allowed only 2 runs. Widner went 3 for 4, and both Collina and Beisser had two hits apiece. The high from the win in game one was short lived as in the second game of the day Rhibo came right back to close the door on Nuoro’s season with a convincing victory. Elisa Brandino picked up the win with only 4 innings of work (4 ip, 3 h, 1 r, 2 bb, 5 so). Rhibo is now assured a spot in the 2013 ISL playoffs.
Over in Collecchio, AMGA Legnano handed Labadini Collecchio their 20th and 21st loss of the regular season. Game one was taken with , and it was Silvia Durot that picked up her 5th win of the year against Kara Husband (Collecchio). In game tow Sally Ward kept Collecchio complete off the board as she earned the shutout victory, her 7 victory of the year. The final in this one was , and the win pushes AMGA’s over all record to 12-14 on the season as they will look to get the .500 mark before seasons end.
The girls of Sanotint Bollate kept their impressive season rolling again over the weekend with their 24th and 25th win on the season over Specchiasol Bussolen. Game one went to Bollate while game two turned into a nail biting 7th inning walk off. The two game series only saw a total of 13 hits, 9 by Bollate and 4 by Bussolen. Notably, Greta Cecchetti moved to 12 and 1 on the season for her culb, and it was anther Cecchetti that drove in the wining run in game two in the bottom of the seventh with a single to center field.
In Caserta the two game series was split between DES Caserta and Dino Bigioni Unione Fermana on Saturday. Game one went to Caserta with a final score of . It was a tight match, as the games only run came in the first when Wigington scored on a sac fly to center off the bat of Longhi. The rest of the game was decided on the mound with Dagmar Bloeming moving to 12-1 on the season in a 7 inning shutout win (7 ip, 3 h, 1 bb, 13 so). In game two Unione Fermana took a step closer to the playoffs with a win. Kimberly Reeder was the victor in this one, picking up her 11th win of the year. The win makes things a little easier for them heading into the last weekend against Urbe Roma at home.
The Blue Girls Bologna Softball Club took two easy games from Urbe Roma on Saturday. Game one was taken in only 5 innings with Emanuela Tomasi picking up the ‘W’, while game two Bologna came out on top on their way to handing Urbe Roma their 21st loss of the season. The two wins and the series split between Caserta and Unione Fermana gives the Blue Girls a slight chance of still making the playoffs, but their going to need a miracle for this to happen, they’re going to need Roma to take two from Unione Fermana next week.. or else their 2013 season will come to an end.
