Sanotint Bollate walked away with a tight 1-0 victory in game one of their best of five series with Dino Bigioni Unione Fermana in Montegranaro on Saturday afternoon. The game was decided by a solo shot off the bat of Kosterink (2 for 2) in the 6th, as it was all that a very strong Wadwell would need on the mound, reining victorious over her counterpart, Reeder. The game finished with 1 run, 6 hits, 1 error for Bollate, and 0 runs, 4 hits, 0 errors for Unione Fermana.

In the evening matchup of this semifinals series Bollate confirmed their dominance over the home team, Unione Fermana, with a 3-1 win. It was Greta Cecchetti’s turn to come up with a strong pitching performance in this one as she wanted nothing less then to replicate the show that Wadwell put together in the first game of the day. In the end Cecchetti turned in 7 innings of 6 hit, 1 run, and 11 strikeout ball, giving her club the 2-0 series lead in this best of 5 semifinals series. Notably Elisa Cecchetti drove in 2, and it was Bortolomai who produced the other run for Sanotint Bollate. The series will now shift to Bollate next weekend.

In La Loggia, Caserta was able to take down the home team with a 2-0 victory in game one of the other best of 5 semifinals series on Saturday afternoon. Bloeming was light out on the mound for Caserta as she turned in a complete game shutout victory, out dueling VanDusschoten on the other side of the diamond. Caserta only had one hit in the game, but it was a productive one, an RBI single by Bosdachin that drove in Mancini from third. Caserta scored one more time, an unearned run in the 7th.

In the second game of the day, the home team, Rhibo La Loggia, was able to even up the best of five series with a 6-3 victory over Caserta. Rhibo took an early lead in this one after Amanda Fama led off the bottom half of the 1st with a solo homerun. In the 3rd it was Caserta’s turn to do some damage with the bat, and that damage came with one swing, a three run homer off the bat of Prisc Brandi. Rhibo La Loggia wouldn’t let their fans down in this one by going down 0-2 in the series. With a big 5 run 6th the home team was able to put away DES Caserta by the final score of 6-3. 5 runs off of 3 hits, which included a 3 RBI double by Carlucci and a two run homer by Mustelli. The series will now move to Caserta next weekend all tied up at one apiece.
