With the IBL on hold for the finals of the European Champions Cup between Unipol Bolonga and Telemarket Rimini, Parma and Novara have scheduled in a makeup game tonight in Parma that was originally on the program for the 25th of May.

For the home team this game is of the upmost importance in their quest for the 2013 postseason. They are currently sitting two and a half games back of both San Marino and Nettuno in the standings and with a win this evening will pull to within two, picking up a half game. Although Novara is sitting near the bottom of the ten team league, they have pulled off more then one upset throughout the season, and there’s no doubt that Munzio has this on his mind heading into tonight’s game, especially being without his leading hitter, Osman Marval (out with an abdominal strain). Going for Parma on the bump will either be Nicolas Giovanelli or Niccolò Loardi.

On the other side of the field Novara will be a little short handed as well. Mike Romano will most likely have to do without Suardi and Musumeci, and there is a big question mark over the presence of the team’s second leading hitter, Silva. Filling in the gaps for Romano will be a number of names off of the IBL 2 roster. Getting the start will be the longtime veteran, Franklin Torres, with Di Taddeo to be handed the ball as the first relief out of the pen.
