announced 33 teams will be participating in Serie A Baseball beginning May 7, 2021 and will be divided into eight groups. Group A includes Parma, Grizzlies Torino, Settimo, and Milano 1946. Group B consists of Senago, Bollate, Brescia, and Cagliari. Group C includes Collecchio, Crocetta, Sala Baganza, Oltretorrente, and Modena. Defending champion Fortitudo Bologna headlines Group D along with Verona, Bolzano, and Castelfranco. Group E features Macerata, Bologna Athletics, New Rimini, and Rovigo. Godo, Cervignano, New Black Panthers, and Longbridge make up Group F, while 2020 Italian Baseball Series runner-up San Marino spearheads Group G with Lancers, Fiorentina, and Jolly Roger Grosseto. The eighth and final Group H welcomes Nettuno 1945, Montefiascone, Academy of Nettuno, and Paternò Red Sox.

The winner of each of the eight groups will advance to the first round of the championship playoffs beginning July 3, 2021 and will be divided in two groups of four teams. The first-place finishers of these two groups will battle in the Italian Baseball Series Championship from August 20-29, 2021. In addition, the second, third, and fourth-place finishers of each group will compete against their counterparts from the other group in a best-of-three game series. The second-place finishers will play the fourth-place finishers, while the third place-finishers clash in the other contest. The three winners of these series will compete against the Italian Baseball Series Championship runner-up for the opportunity to be the second team included in the 2022 European Champions Cup.The 25 Serie A teams not participating in the championship playoffs will be divided into five groups to determine which five teams will be relegated to Serie B after finishing last in their respective group.
