DES Caserta moved to 4 and 0 at the EU Champions Cup, while Unione Fermana sits at 3 and 1 in the ‘Cup of Cups’

Des Caserta came out victorious in their third game against Skovde BSK at the European Softball Champions Cup in Prague on Wednesday by the final of 10-0

Des Caserta came out victorious in their third game against Skovde BSK at the European Softball Champions Cup in Prague on Wednesday by the final of 10-0. The game only lasted three innings as the Italian club put a beating on Maire Shaughnessy, scoring 6 runs off the Swedish pitcher in the bottom of the 4th after they had already picked up 4 through the two innings. 11 hits were racked up in all, along wit 3 walks and 3 errors, numbers that don’t exactly add up to a victory if you’re the one on the mound. Picking up the ‘W’ for Caserta was Carlotta Natti with 4 innings of perfect ball.. No hits, No runs, No walks.  Giulia Longhi smacked a three run homer in this one, and Sandra Bosdachin also went yard with a two run shot of her own.

Lindsey Beisser picked up her third win at the EU Champions Cup in Prague with after throwing a complete against Alcmaria Victrix  in the 8 to 3 victory on Wednesday evening. She allowed 6 hits and 3 runs, of which only 2 were earned, on her way to the victory over the Dutch club. The win puts the Italians at 4 and 0 thus far in the tournament, but they will have to faceoff with another undefeated in their second of two tomorrow in a matchup with the Sparks of the Netherlands. Game one of the day will be against the Eagles of the Czech Republic.

           

                 

At the ‘Cup of Cups’ Unione Fermana dropped their first game to the Gryphons of the Netherlands on Wednesday evening by the final of 6 to 5. The game was lost in extras with Luana Luconi on the hill for Unione Fermana. The Italians built a 4 run lead in the top of the 1st but let the game slowly slip away as the game matured. The loss means that they sit at 3-1 thus far in the tournament, as they will now look to rebound when the faceoff with the Nightmares out of Germany in a morning game on Thursday, before they have to face off with Terravogels of the Holland in an evening matchup.
