Team Italy women's softball squad roster and schedule announced for the World Games in Alabama
The World Games in Birmingham, Alabama begin on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Team Italy is in Group A with host USA, Canada and Taiwan. The Italians make their debut against USA at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium on Saturday night, July 9, 2022 at 7 pm (CT).
The Team Italy women's softball squad is busy this summer as the reigning Euro champs depart for the USA on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 to compete in the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama from July 9-13, 2022. Shortly thereafter, the Italians return to Europe to defend the European Softball Championship in Saint Boi (Barcelona), Spain from July 24-30, 2022.
Team Italy has prepared for these international events at training camps in Buttrio and Ronchi dei Legionari. Upon arrival in Birmingham, Alabama, the Azzurre squad will spend time preparing for their games at nearby Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. The seventh-ranked Italians are the lone European country in the competition and are in Group A with top-ranked USA, third-ranked Canada and sixth-ranked Chinese Taipei. Group B features second-ranked Japan, fourth-ranked Mexico, fifth-ranked Puerto Rico and eighth-ranked Australia.
The Italians make their debut against USA at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium on Saturday night, July 9, 2022 at 7 pm (CT). Team Italy returns on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 1 pm (CT) for a clash against Canada. The Azzurre squad plays Chinese Taipei on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 1 pm (CT). The competition continues through Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
