Bologna signs Roger Luque

Roger Luque, a Venezuelan lefty (born 1980), has been picked up by Bologna to replace Victor Moreno in the rotation. Luque has been playing pro-ball since 1998, first with the San Diego Padres organization, then Seattle and Kansas City. Luque made it as high as Double A before being released back in 2003. After playing in affiliated ball, he moved onto the independent leagues, as well as the Venezualian and Colombian winter leagues.

Roger Luque also has some international experience. The left-handed pitcher pitched for Venezuela in the 2009 IBAF World Cup as well as for Mr Cocker HCAW in the Holland Baseball League in 2010.
