The Italian born Liddi is back in the “Bigs”, and will be heading to California, where he made his Major League debut back in 2011 as the Mariners are in San Diego to take on the Padres at Petco Park. This is a great opportunity for Liddi, who will be making his 54 appearance if he’s to get in a game with Seattle. The infielder from San Remo, Italy began the year in Triple A with the Tacoma Rainiers where he was hitting .267 with 9 homers and 37 RBI’s in 50 games played. Liddi’s been all over the map over the last couple of months, through spring training and a very successful World Baseball Classic with team Italy.

Alex should get some playing time both at first and in the outfield with both Justin Smoak and Michael Morse out with minor injuries.
