With the pandemic eliminating Liga Mexicana de Beisbol (LMB) last season, 32-year-old Italian baseball ambassador Alex Liddi has been waiting nearly two years to lead Leones de Yucatán to another LMB Sur Division Championship. Recruited for the second half of Yucatán's 2019 playoff campaign, Alex Liddi delivered an impressive .344 batting average with 96 hits, 12 home runs, and 66 RBI in 263 plate appearances.
Alex Liddi most recently played under manager José Molina for Atenienses de Manatí in Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (LBPRC) in Puerto Rico. With 15 seasons in professional baseball under his belt, he has amassed 1,820 hits, 730 extra-base hits, 244 home runs, and 1,080 RBI during his illustrious career. Alex Liddi was last seen playing for Team Italy in the 2018 Super 6 Tournament when he was a top three performer in the following offensive categories: batting average (.619--second to Chris Colabello), slugging percentage (1.450--third to Chris Colabello and Robel Garcia), on-base percentage (.680--second to Chris Colabello), runs scored (13--first), hits (13--second to Chris Colabello), RBI (8--third to Chris Colabello and Drew Maggi), doubles (3--first), triples (1--tied for first with Robel Garcia and Drew Maggi), and home runs (3--second to Chris Colabello).
