MKF Bollate defeats Inox Team Saronno 12-11 in extra-inning softball spectacular livestream

The livestream of the MKF Bollate Softball 1969 and Inox Team Saronno A1 Softball game from Stadio Comunale via Brescia in Bollate attracted a worldwide audience on Thursday, July 23, 2020. Hosted by the broadcast team of Matteo Gandini, Team Italy pitching ace Greta Cecchetti, and Nicolò Gatti, the livestream gave viewers an inside perspective on two of the best Italian A1 Softball teams.

Fans practiced social distancing in the stands while Team Italy manager Enrico Obletter and Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball Softball (FIBS) federal councilor Roberta Soldi offered support and encouragement to players just beyond the backstop behind home plate. An RBI triple by MKF Bollate's Elisa Cecchetti off Inox Team Saronno reliever Alice Nicolini brought home Marta Gasparotto in the bottom of the eighth inning to give MKF Bollate the 12-11 extra-inning victory over Inox Team Saronno.

Winning pitcher Laura Bigatton pitched 5.1 innings and allowed just three hits and one earned run with three strikeouts and seven walks. She also helped MKF Bollate with her bat going 1-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Other offensive contributors included Elisa Cecchetti (2-for-3 with one triple, one home run, two walks, one stolen base, two RBI, and two runs scored), Marta Gasparotto (2-for-3 with one walk, one stolen base, two RBI, and three runs scored), Lara Buila (1-for-4 with two RBI, and one run scored), Lara Cecchetti (2-for-4 with one double, and two RBI), and Marta Chiodaroli (2-for-4 with one double, one RBI, and one runs scored).

Inox Team Saronno starter Veronica Comar pitched seven innings and allowed eight earned runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
