The Italian American Baseball Foundation (IABF), a registered 501(c)(3) charity that is committed to the future of baseball and softball for Italians and Italian Americans, announces the inaugural IABF Spaghetti and Baseballs podcast on the IABF Facebook page beginning on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 2 pm (EDT). IABF ambassador and MLB veteran Frank Catalanotto will be the first guest of honor to bring on the entertaining baseball talk with Spaghetti and Baseballs hosts Chris Colabello and Natalie Spedaliere.
The engaging and interactive podcast marks the reunification of Team Italy slugger Chris Colabello and Team Italy coach Frank Catalanotto, who have not seen each other since the sold-out 2019 IABF Gala Dinner and Fundraiser for Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball (FIBS) in Brooklyn, New York. Having spent his youth playing baseball near his Italian mother's hometown in Rimini and led the Toronto Blue Jays to the 2015 postseason, Chris Colabello has a devout following both in Italy and Canada so an international audience is guaranteed for the IABF Spaghetti and Baseballs podcast.
Spaghetti and Baseballs co-host and IABF Executive Board Director Natalie Spedaliere brings years of experience to the podcast serving as senior executive assistant to the President of MLB Network. She received the IABF Executive of the Year honor at the 2019 IABF Gala Dinner after organizing the IABF All-Star Weekend Round Table Discussion with Mike Napoli in Cleveland, Ohio and the inaugural IABF Golf Outing in Ramsey, New Jersey as well as arranging an official IABF visit to MLB Network Studios in Secaucus, New Jersey.
Spaghetti and Baseballs podcast special guest Frank Catalanotto was honored with the IABF Achievement Award at the 2019 IABF Gala Dinner. In his inaugural 2019 season serving as New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) head coach, Frank Catalanotto led the NYIT baseball team to their first NCAA tournament berth since 1983 and the first College World Series appearance in school history with a program-record 37 wins and a year-end number 13 ranking. He also was named ABCA East Region and ECAC Coach of the Year.
After playing for Team Italy in the 2006 and 2009 World Baseball Classics and returning to coach Team Italy in the 2013 and 2017 World Baseball Classics, Frank Catalanotto is a true IABF and MLB ambassador with 14 years of big league experience to his credit. Make sure to join Frank Catalanotto, Chris Colabello, and Natalie Spedaliere on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 2 pm (EDT) for the inaugural IABF Spaghetti and Baseballs podcast by clicking HERE.
