WBSC considers Parma and Bologna for Europe-Africa Olympic Baseball Qualifier site

Parma Baseball 1949 recently issued a press release announcing that Stadio Nino Cavalli in Parma is being considered as a potential venue for the Europe-Africa Olympic Baseball Qualifier from September 18-23, 2019. It has been reported that the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Planning Commission carried out an inspection of the Parma stadium as well as Stadio Gianni Falchi, home of Fortitudo Baseball.

Both venues were evaluated in compliance with the required WBSC international standards for the facilities' overall structure including field lighting, the scoreboard, and media work space. The WBSC will reach a decision and announce the location for Europe-Africa Olympic Baseball Qualifier tournament on January 20, 2019.

The top five European teams from the 2019 European Baseball Championship and South Africa will compete for the opportunity to be the lone Europe-Africa representative in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The European Baseball Championship will take place just prior to the Olympic Qualifier in Bonn and Solingen, Germany from September 6-15, 2019. Forza #Italia! #LetsMakeItHappen
