Italy stayed perfect in the Italian Baseball Week tournament after they were able to easily get by the Czech Republic on Monday evening. Italy took the game by the final of 10 to 1, with 5 pitchers combining for the large margin victory, with Michael Colla starting the game and Tiago Da Silva closing it, while it was Panerati that picked up the win in between.
Italy’s main offensive production came in the 4th when they crossed 6 runs off 3 walks, 4 hits and 1 error, they also scored 2 in the 5th and 2 more in the 7th. Giovanni Pantaleoni, Alex Sambucci, and Stefano Desimoni all went 2 for 3 at the plate for Italy, with Pantaleoni scoring 2 runs, Sambucci 3, while Desimoni and Mazzuca drove in 2 runs apiece. The Italians outhit the Czech 12 to 5 in the 9 run difference, they also reached on 5 walks and benefited from 3 errors committed by the Czech.
Italy will now face off with Spain later today (20:30) in the final of the Italian Baseball Week.
