Under the lights one more time, Game 5

Home field advantage hasn’t seemed to play much of a factor in this year’s Italian Baseball Series, in fact, the home team has yet to win a game. 2 win by Rimini in San Marino to start the series, and now two wins in Rimini by San Marino that has the series currently all tied up at two wins apiece. A decisive game five can be attributed to a brilliant shutout performance thrown by the combo of Tiago Da Silva and Seth La Fera. The final in this game four of the 2013 Italian Baseball Series was three to nothing as both offenses were shutout out for the majority of the evening, with Rimini actually out hitting San Marino 6 to 4.

The difference was Da Silva’s 7.2 innings pitched 0 runs + La Fera’s 1.1 innings pitched 0 runs + Runs Batted by Mazzuca and Imperiali in the 2nd, then Pantaleoni in the 8th, all added up to San Marino winning game four of the IBL finals. The win now means that the series is all up at 2-2, and a winner takes all game five will now be played tonight once again in Rimini.

The win was picked up by 7 plus innings of work on the hill by Tiago Da Silva, (5 hits, 0 runs, 3 bb, and 5 so.), while the save went to Seth La Fera who retired the last four Rimini batters of the game. Suffering the loss for Rimini was Roberto Corradini, however his performance on the bump was superb, holding T&A to only 4 hits and a walk, the problem is that those four hits and a walk turned into a 3-0 win. On the offensive side of the ball for the winning club picking up the RBI with the first run of the game was Mazzuca thanks to a run scoring double to left.  The second run came when Duran crossed the plate on a ground out to short.  The games third and final run came in the 8th when Mazzuca double to right to lead off the inning, and then later scored on a sac fly to right off the bat of Pantaleoni.

Game 5 will begin at 20:00 CET
