Bologna walked away with a fairly easy 8-2 win over a visiting Reggio Emilia club on Thursday evening in Bologna. Reggio was just no match for the leagues leading pitcher, Rivero, and the bats of Vaglio and Reyes (the two combined for 6 of the 8 runs batted in). Game two will be played out tonight in Bologna with a start time of 20.30.
The weekends “BIG SERIES” will begin tonight in Parma before moving to Rimini on Saturday. The games will feature the 1st place Rimini Pirates against the number 5 in the league, Parma.. a team in search of the 4th a final playoff sport in the league. Parma’s manager Munoz has already named his foreign pitcher from now till the end of the 2013 campaign, and that’s the Venezuelan righty, Sanchez. Sanchez will be getting the nod in game one of the series. As for game two it looks like it will be Rivera 1st, followed by the rest of the committee out of the pen. Onto Rimini now, a team that has been fly high for a good little while.. in fact it’s been a fantastic 2013 season thus far for Chris Catanoso’s club, a club that is currently supporting a 23 and 5 record. Taking the ball for the Pirates over this two game set will be Bazardo and Corradini, while in the outfield in game one it will be Romero with Buccheri being penciled in as the DH. As for game two, there’s a good chance that there will be a few changes on the lineup card.
Ronchi dei Legionari will be making the 12 hour trip down south on Friday evening to take on Nettuno in a Friday, day-night double header. Ronchi will at least have one player that they wont have to worry about in game one, and that’s Nettuno’s heaving hitting 3rd baseman, Peppe Mazzanti (serving a one game suspension). In his place Bagialemani will slide Renato Imperiali to third and play Grimaudio at first. On the bump in game one it’s either going to be Andreozzi, Simone or Andrea Pizziconi, while in game two Riccardo De Santis will be getting his normal start. The New Black Panthers will be making the trip without some key names in their lineup, as Cechet, Gheno, Centini and Zamò are all in question. The two starters will be Petralia and Yepez.
