Rimini and Nettuno go at it today, Bologna victorious over San Marino

Unipol Bologna came out victorious in their series opener last night at home against T&A San Marino with a final score of 5-2. It was a good bounce back win for Bologna having lost both of their games last week in Nettuno. The series will continue tonight in San Marino. On the hill for T&A will be Magrane as he will face off against D’Angelo. The game is scheduled to start at 20:30

Right down the road in Rimini another two potential playoff teams will be beginning their two game series this afternoon when the Pirates play host to a hot Nettuno club. Today Rimini will be hitting the field with a new face on the roster, Adolfo Gomez. The Pirates hope that the Colombian-Italian will lend a helping hand in a utility role for the club. Taking the ball for Catanoso in game one will be Bazardo, as Roberto Corradini will get the call in game two. As for Nettuno, they will be heading into their second straight weekend without Renato Imperiali. Filling in the gap at first will be Grimaudo. Bagialemani will be sticking with his two right-handers on the, Andrea Pizziconi and Riccardo De Santis.

This weekend Parma will hope to pick up some ground in the playoff race when they take on Novara, a team that is coming off of a fresh sweep of Godo, and winners of 3 of their last 4. In game one Sanchez (Parma) will face off against Calero (Novara), and as for the second game, Loardi will get the call for Parma with Novara’s starter yet to be determined.

The Toshiba Enegan Grosseto club will host Palfinger Reggio Emilia as both clubs are looking to get back into the swing of things. Palfinger will be a couple of men short over the weekend with Macaluso still out with a calf tear and Piazza not being able to the charter down to Tuscany. Ularetti should be getting the call in game one for Grosseto with Reggio’s manager, Carrion, changing things up by starting Crepaldi. In game two Bastardo will take the hill for the “Reggiani” but it is still unclear who Grosseto will call upon.

Week 8 in the IBL will conclude tomorrow, Sunday May 26th with a doubleheader between the Godo Knights and the New Black Panthers of Ronchi dei Legionari. The games will take place in Godo, with game one set to start at 14:30.
