PARMA—The Elective Assembly confirmed Riccardo Fraccari as president of baseball and softball’s highest post in Italy.
Fraccari received backing from 58.18% of the vote (being in his third term, he needed at least 55%), equal to 6,928 votes on 11,994 resulting from the 620 valid ballots.
Entrepreneur Claudio Carnevale of Rome received 41% of the vote (4,918 votes).
Fraccari’s victory speech underlined that the Federation’s doors “are wide open” for those who want to work for baseball and softball.”
Fraccari was first elected as FIBS president back in 2001.
