Visually Impaired Baseball League opens season on March 11

ROME - Rome and Florence will be paired up for the opening day ofthe baseball league dedicated to athletes who are visually impaired.

The season opener has been inserted on the program for Sunday,March 11, and has Florence traveling to Rome, as part of the East Divisionaction.

The rest of the league will open up on March 17, with WestDivision games scheduled in Milan.

The league's composition:

West Division

Milan Thunder's Five (defending champions), Lampi Milan, Patrini Malnate and the Tigers of Cagliari

East Division

Bologna White Sox, Cvinta Ravenna, Aquiolone Red Sox Empoli, Rome and Fiorence

The east vs. west All-Star Game is scheduled for September.
