The baseball national team is in Florida to get ready for the World Cup

The final act of the baseball season will be the IBAF World Cup, to be played in Panama starting October 1st.
Team Italy will get ready for the tournament in Vero Beach "Sports Village", former Dodger Town. Manager Marco Mazzieri took 25 players to the United States and will release one pitcher before flying to Panama. There's also a very little hope that Seattle Mariners third baseman Alex Liddi could join the team. In that case, Mazzieri will have to do one more roster move.
PITCHERS (12) Cooper, Giovanni D'Amico, Oberto (Grosseto); Panerati (Dayton Dragons-A Cincinnati Reds); Cicatello, Grifantini (Parma); Cillo, Pugliese (Fortitudo BO); A. Pizziconi (Burlington Royals-A Kansas City); Richetti (Nettuno); Da Silva (San Marino); Maestri (Lincoln Saltdogs-American Association)
CATCHERS (2) Bertagnon (Parma); Angrisano (Fortitudo BO)
INFIELDERS (6) Mazzanti (Nettuno); Infante (Fortitudo BO); F. Imperiali, Granato, Pantaleoni, Ramos Gizzi (San Marino)

Mazzieri's coaches will be Marco Nanni, Bill Holmberg, Mike Piazza, Alberto D'Auria and Claudio Vecchi.

While in Florida Team Italy will play 4 warm up games against Instructional League teams: 2 against the Marlins and 2 against the Nationals.

"We understand it's not going to be easy" said Marco Mazzieri "But after claiming bronze medal at the Intercontinental Cup we are aware of our potential and will do our best to compete with the top teams".
