Forli takes lead in Italian Softball League with Legnano, Caserta percentage points behind

The second-half of the Italian Softball League regularseason kicked off this past weekend and there was some shifting around in the standings.  Forli, which was percentage points behindCaserta and Legnano managed to slip by two spots to take the throne of theItalian Softball League.

Both Caserta and Legnano split their double-headers athome.  Caserta fell to Fermana 6-4 in thetail-end of a double-header, while Legnano was bested 8-4 in the opener of adouble-header with the Sardinians from Nuoro.

Forli profited on the losses by Caserta and Legnano, as thesoftballers from just outside Bologna hammered home a double-header sweep ofthe mighty Titano Hornets.  Forli hasonly lost four games on the season, but still needs to make up a double-headerin the tough confines of Nuoro, Sardinia.

Bollate and La Loggia engaged in two extra-inning thrillers inwhich Bollate prevailed on both occasions: 10-8 and 1-0.

Macerata failed to allow to run this weekend, as theycompleted two shutouts over last-place Caronno.
