Legnano was able to stop a hot Fermana team that in the previousweek topped Bollate twice.  The two winsover the week for Legnano keep the softballers from Lombardy out in front ofthe Italian Softball League for a third straight week.  Legnano used two shutouts, 1-0 and 4-0, atthe expense of Fermana's league- leading offense to maintain its position infirst place.  Fermana actually outhitLegnano 4 hits to 2 in the early game, but Clare Warwick's homerun proved to befar more significant in the 1-0 pitcher's dual. Legnano pitcher Musitelli stunted Fermana's high-octane offense in the rematch, allowing just 2 hits en route to the complete game shutout.

Second-place Caserta remains just one game out offirst-place after swatting the Titano Hornets with a pair of shutouts, 4-0 and 6-0.  The Hornets started out the season 4-0, buthave since dropped six straight.

Bollate kept Caronno with one win on the season.  Bollate topped Caronno 11-3 in the firstcontest and capped off Caronno 4-1 in a more balanced affair. Bollate had droppeda double-header going into Week 5, so this series victory puts them 2 gamesabove .500 and 2 games out of first-place.

La Loggia and Macerata were content with a seriessplit.  Macerata performed a 2-1 openingact on La Loggia before dropping the nightcap 7-2.

Forli and Nuoro got showered out in Sardinia and will haveto make up their series during the second-half of the season in Forli.
