With five teams stuck in the middle of the Italian SoftballLeague Standings, Week 5 could present some games that may let the leagueunfold and develop, but at the same time, these games may serve to pack theteams even tighter together.
Here's a look at this week's program in the ISL:
Bollate (4-4) at Caronno (1-7)
On paper, it seems this series will provide the least surprises;although, Bollate got swept last week and if they haven't recovered mentallyfrom that tough series loss, Caronno may add another victory to its name.
La Loggia (4-4) at Macerata (4-4)
This will be one of the more interesting match-ups for each team to try to move out of the middle of the pack. Both managers may be content with splittingthe series and jumble their line-ups accordingly.
Titano (4-4) at Caserta (5-3)
Only a few weeks ago were the Titano Hornets flying high infirst place; four straight losses have caused much turbulence and Caserta willtry to ultimately ground the Hornets at home.
Forli (5-3) at Nuoro (3-5)
Second-place Forli could find themselves with a share offirst-place with two wins at home.
Fermana (4-4) at Legnano (6-2)
Fermana is coming off a monster sweep of Bollate and will beplaying with confidence against the frontrunner. Legnano also swept its opponent last week andwill try to add some distance from the rest of the league as the middle of thepack takes aim at each other.
