There was no change in leadership in the Series "A" Federal League at the conclusion of Week 5 action.  Both Reggio Emilia and Codogno swept their double-headers to remain ahead of the pack; although, Sala Baganza lurks just a half-game behind Reggio Emilia, and Senago-Milan finds itself in a similar position in back of Codogno.

There were four clean sweeps on the South Conference, with Viterbo and Messina the lone match-up that split the two-game set.  In the North Conference, of the four double-headers scheduled, three resulted in sweeps; Piacenza split a pair of games with visiting Ponte di Piave.  The double-header between Rovigo and Cagliari was not disputed.

Palfinger Reggio Emilia headed to Heila Poviglio and spanked Poviglio 14-2 (7 innings) in the Saturday afternoon affair.  Reggio returned on Sunday to complete the sweep, with a 6-1 victory.

E-Tecno1 Sala Baganza remained in the thick of things taking two games from visiting Lanfranchi Storici Collecchio, 12-2 (8 innings) and 3-0.

Anzio split a pair with Modena at Modena.  Anzio took the first game 6-3, but Modena prevailed in the rematch 2-1.

Messina headed to Viberto and split the double-header.  Viberto struck first with a 9-2 win, while Messina barely avoided the double-header with a 9-8 victory.

Rome traveled to Arezzo and completed a sweep, 8-6 (11 innings) and 6-1.

Codogno headed to Torino and scored a sweep against Juve 98 in some close games.  Codogno prevailed 3-2 in the opener and 3-0 in the nightcap.

Second-place Senago Milan United continued Novara's woes, sweeping the Piemontesi 7-1 and 3-2.

Redipuglia surrendered a sweep to host Bollate, 8-0 and 3-2.

Piacenza fell in the first game against visiting Ponte di Piave 10-8 in ten innings, but came back to win the tail end of the double-header under the lights, 5-2.
