ROME WILL HAVE A NEW BASEBALL STADIUM

Roberto Fabbricini and Riccardo Fraccari (Ratti/Fibs)The Mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno announced on Saturday 2/20 during the IBAF Executive Meeting that the City of Rome will have a new baseball stadium. Around the facility there will be room for other baseball and softball fields and possibly for a IBAF office.

"This city does not have a baseball stadium that can host big events" Alemanno said "And the area in Tor Vergata we chose seems ideal. It is not Rome downtown, but it's close to the second University and to the City of Sports projected by spanish architect Calatrava. This is a fast developing area of Rome".

During IBAF Executive meeting President Riccardo Fraccari appointed former Italian Olympic teams director Roberto Fabbricini as new IBAF Executive Director.
Anna Maria Paini (Italy) will be the President of the Scorers Commission, while Gus Rodriguez (Puertorico) will have the same role in the Umpires Commission.
