17 Italian prospects invited to MLB Elite European Development Tournament in conjunction with London Series

MLB EuropePrior to the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox taking the field in game one of the inaugural MLB London Series on June 29, 2019, 17 Italian prospects will be among 90 teenage baseball players from 13 European countries and the Ramstein U.S. Air Force Base in Germany competing in the MLB Elite European Development Tournament at the UK's Farnham Park Baseball and Softball Complex from June 25-27, 2019. The three-day international tourney showcases Europe's best prospects for the many MLB scouts attending in search of up-and-coming talent.

The MLB Elite European Development Tournament is part of a week-long series of initiatives designed to commemorate and celebrate the first-ever London Series. The players will be divided into three teams: Red Team, Blue Team and Gray Team. The Netherlands lead all European nations with the most amount of players invited to the tourney (19). Not far behind, Italy ranks second with 17 players participating and playing for their respective teams listed below:

RED TEAM: Nicolò Ioli (RHP), Francesco Pomponi (RHP), Lorenzo Moressi (C), Gabriele Angioi (INF), Sean Fasano (INF), Tommaso Adorni (OF), and Riccardo Bertossi (UTIL).
BLUE TEAM: Maurizio Andretta (LHP), Lemba Della Salandra (LHP), Ettore Giulianelli (RHP), and Tomas Canuti (INF).
GRAY TEAM: Alessandro Ercolani (RHP), Nicola Marziali (RHP), Lorenzo Taschin (RHP), Oscar Tucci (LHP), Samuele Bruno (C), and Federico Ricci (INF). Forza #Italia! #LetsMakeItHappen
