The Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball (or FIBS) is the governing body of baseball and softball in Italy. FIBS is a National Sport Federation and its rules are set along the guidelines of the Italian Olympic Comitee or CONI.

24 teams divided into 4 pools, the top 2 are promoted after play offs, the last 4 are demoted; official ball is Wilson 1010 Italy; wooden bats, but composite are allowed |

FIBS organizes only the finals, which promote 4 teams, the rest is organized by regional offices of FIBS; official ball Wilson A 1030; wooden bats, but composite are allowed |

21 and Under; Cadets or 16 and Under; Allievi or 14 and Under; Juveniles or 12 and Under. All of the activity is organized by the regional offices of FIBS, except for the finals; official ball Wilson A 1030; aluminum bats are allowed |

ITALIAN SOFTBALL LEAGUE or SERIE A1 |
10 teams, the top 4 compete for the league title in the play offs; the last place team is demoted; the 9th place team competes in a play off with the second place team of the Serie A2; official ball is Wilson A 9011. |

16 teams, divided into 2 pools, the best 3 of each pool advance to the play offs, the winner is promoted; the second place team plays a play off series with the 9th place team of the ISL, the winner is promoted; the last place teams of the 2 pools are demoted; official ball is Wilson A 9011. |
